The wisdom behind mindfulness has been around for at least 2.5 thousand years but increasingly in the last 50 years, scientific research has been consistently proving its benefits for mental well-being and greater happiness. Indeed the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence which informs NHS treatment protocols, recommends mindfulness training as an antidote for anxiety, low-mood and less severe depression.
